Bootscharter in Kuba · Lagoon 410 in Cienfuegos / Marina Cienfuegos — “Sofia Cuba” — (2004)

From Cienfuegos, Sofia Cuba reaches both the colonial architecture of nearby Trinidad and the wild cays of Jardines de la Reina within a day's sail. This Lagoon 410 catamaran puts nine guests into five private cabins and four bathrooms—enough space that families and groups never feel cramped during a week on the water. Living aboard becomes straightforward. The saloon sits between the two hulls where natural light floods through cabin ports and windows, while the galley and navigation station occupy practical positions. Cabins tuck into each hull and across the bridge deck, each with proper ventilation and storage. The cockpit stretches wide with shelter from a hardtop, and the trampoline netting between the hulls becomes a favorite spot for morning coffee or sunset drinks. The foredeck offers safe access for anchor work and swimming stops. Two hulls deliver what single-hull boats cannot. Sofia Cuba sits rock-steady at anchor—no swinging and rolling that wakes sleeping children. Her 1.2-meter draft slides into bays and beaches where deeper boats must stay offshore, opening anchorages others cannot reach. The 7.84-meter beam creates generous cabin widths and uncluttered deck space, a real comfort on an extended charter. From Cienfuegos, the shallow bays around Cayo Largo, the mangrove-lined channels, and the protected waters between the keys become proper cruising grounds rather than distant dreams. A bareboat week means choosing your own rhythm across water that rewards both ambition and leisure.
