Bootscharter in Antigua und Barbuda · Leopard 50 in Antigua / Nelson's Dockyard — “Moorings 5000 Exclusive Plus” — (2025)

Dropping anchor in the glassy shallows off Barbuda or threading through a narrow bay entrance — this is where the Moorings 5000 Exclusive Plus proves why catamaran hulls matter. Twin hulls hold you rock-steady in anchorages, the 1.25-meter draft slips into turquoise waters most monohulls cannot reach, and that flat platform means no rolling when the group gathers on deck. For 11 people, the space transforms what a bareboat charter can be: four cabins mean privacy instead of awkward bunk assignments, four bathrooms mean no morning queues, and the generous trampolines and foredeck invite everyone to spread out. The saloon opens to the cockpit without walls to divide, creating one flowing social hub where cooking, eating, and watching the sunset all happen naturally. Below deck, the layout separates family groups into their own territory while keeping the shared spaces central. The Leopard 50 design gives high headroom and clever stowage, so a week's provisions and everyone's belongings have their place. From Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua, you have the Grenadines within arm's reach, sheltered bays where you can anchor in 2 meters, and the kind of cruising ground where a bareboat crew can confidently handle the boat while soaking in every moment. Twin Yammer engines and a manageable sail plan mean calm-weather power and light-air confidence without fuss.
