Bootscharter in Italien · Lagoon 450 Fly in Castiglioncello / Marina Cala de' Medici — “Cor Caroli” — (2018)

Castiglioncello's Marina Cala de' Medici sits at the edge of Tuscany's most sheltered sailing grounds, where Cor Caroli—a 2018 Lagoon 450 Fly—becomes your floating base for a week exploring the Tuscan archipelago. This 13.96-meter catamaran sleeps up to 12 across four cabins and four bathrooms, a practical arrangement that means families and groups travel without compromise on privacy or comfort. The dual hulls create genuine living space: a full-beam saloon that doesn't feel cramped, protected cockpit areas fore and aft, and twin trampolines that invite you to linger while anchored. Two hulls matter more than marketing slogans suggest. Cor Caroli holds position steadily at anchor even on rolling days, thanks to her wide stance and shallow draft. That shallow draft opens the map in ways monohulls cannot reach—you'll swing into sandy bays and beach anchorages around Elba or the smaller islands, places where deep-keeled boats simply won't fit. Four cabins means each group can have their own sleeping quarters, and four bathrooms eliminate the usual charter compromise of queuing between showers. From Castiglioncello, a week's itinerary writes itself. Head toward Elba for protected waters and Portoferraio's working harbor, explore the quieter northeast coast, or push toward the Cinque Terre if conditions allow. The 450 Fly's flybridge adds command of the view and extra deck space for sunbathing or navigation. Bareboat charter means you steer the week your way.
