Bootscharter in Neuseeland · Kelsall 54 in Paihia / Bay of Islands — “Cool Change” — (2005)

The Bay of Islands is a playground of 144 islands and hidden coves, and Cool Change offers the perfect platform to explore them. Built on the proven Kelsall 54 hull design, this 2005 catamaran gives seven guests the freedom to anchor where few monohulls can venture. The shallow 1.35-meter draft reaches into crystalline bays and shallow beaches, while the stable twin hulls sit rock-solid at anchor, even when the wind picks up. For families and groups, this matters: you're not pitching and rolling, and everyone can relax between explorations. Life aboard centers on genuine comfort. Four separate cabins and three full bathrooms mean privacy and dignity for a week at sea. The saloon stretches across both hulls, creating an airy social space that catches the light and views in equal measure. The cockpit is a genuine outdoor room, and the wide trampolines between the hulls turn sunbathing into a natural part of the day. The foredeck provides a quiet refuge forward, away from engine noise and the helm. With your own crewed charter from Paihia, Cool Change becomes a floating base for the Bay of Islands' best anchorages. Skip between Urupukapuka, Otehei Bay, and the Moturua Islands with confidence. The two hulls deliver stability for snorkeling or swimming, and enough interior space that families won't feel cramped by day three. This is how a catamaran should work: reliable, roomy, and built for the waters you're actually sailing.
