Bootscharter in Italien · Saba 50 in Sicily / Capo d'Orlando Marina — “Alvin” — (2019)

Sailing north from Capo d'Orlando Marina, you leave behind Sicily's dramatic coastline and enter waters where the Aeolian Islands rise like sentinels—volcanic peaks framed against clear horizons. Alvin, a 2019 Fountaine Pajot Saba 50, is built for this kind of cruising. Four well-appointed cabins sleep twelve guests comfortably, each with its own bathroom, so no queuing when it's time to freshen up before dinner. The saloon is open and naturally lit, flowing seamlessly into the cockpit where the crew works and guests gather for morning coffee. Wide trampolines stretch between the twin hulls, perfect for reading or watching dolphins pass underneath. Two hulls transform how a boat lives at anchor and how it moves through the archipelago. Alvin sits level and stable even when the wind kicks up, because the hulls spread the weight and resist roll. The shallow draft means you can nose into bays and beaches that monohulls cannot reach—anchorages off white-sand strands, tucked behind rocky promontories, close enough to hear the bell towers of fishing villages. With fifty meters of deck space, there's room for a group to spread out without feeling cramped, families to have their own corners, and crew to work without tripping over guests. From this base, a week's cruising opens the eastern Mediterranean to you. You might sail to Lipari for evening passeggiata, anchor off Panarea to swim in clear water, or explore Salina's terraced vineyards. The Saba 50's size and comfort mean your crew can navigate confidently while you simply decide where to wake up next.
