Bootscharter in Frankreich · Lucia 40 in Cogolin / Les Marines de Cogolin — “Marlea” — (2019)

Anchored at Les Marines de Cogolin, Marlea sits at the gateway to the Côte d'Azur's most rewarding sailing grounds—the Îles d'Hyères, the Giens Peninsula, and the quiet coves that dot the Provençal coast lie within easy reach. This 2019 Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40 catamaran carries eight guests across three cabins and four bathrooms, meaning families and friend groups escape the compromises that plague smaller boats. Living aboard is genuinely comfortable. The saloon spreads across the bridge deck between the two hulls, offering an airy social space with panoramic views. Four cabins—including the owner's suite and guest quarters—provide privacy without feeling cramped. The cockpit stretches wide, giving multiple crew members room to move while sailing, and the trampolines connecting the bows invite you to lie back and watch the water slip past. The shallow draft of Marlea's hulls opens anchorages that deep-keeled monohulls cannot reach, letting you nose into hidden bays and approach beaches where fewer boats venture. The twin hulls matter most for what they deliver in practice: stability that keeps you level whether drifting at anchor or reaching under sail. This boat does not heel and rock like her single-hulled cousins. The wide beam creates genuine living space—not the squeezed corridor feeling of narrower designs. From Cogolin, a week's cruising might take you island-hopping through the Hyères, exploring the quiet anchorages of Porquerolles, or pushing toward the Maures coast. Marlea handles it all without fuss.
