Bootscharter in Frankreich · Astréa 42 in Cogolin / Les Marines de Cogolin — “Gabian” — (2020)

From Cogolin's protected harbor at Les Marines, Gabian sits ready to explore the Côte d'Azur's varied coastline—from the rocky Îles d'Hyères to Corsica's distant shores. This 2020 Fountaine Pajot Astréa 42 brings genuine practical advantages for groups and families wanting to sail without compromise. Four separate cabins and four full bathrooms mean real comfort for 11 guests. The twin-hull design does the heavy lifting here: the shallow 1.3-meter draft opens access to anchorages and beaches that monohulls can't reach, while the wide beam creates a stable platform at anchor where wind and swell barely register. Below, the saloon spans both hulls with natural light and generous headroom. Above, the cockpit and trampolines offer space to relax between passages, and the foredeck gives everyone room to move around the mast. Gabian handles bareboat sailing with straightforward systems—a reliable Yammer engine, furling mainsail, and straightforward deck layout. The 400-liter fuel capacity and 500 liters of fresh water support a full week of cruising independence. Whether you're sailing as an experienced crew or a mixed group wanting manageable boat handling, the Astréa's balanced size and design make it approachable. From Cogolin, you're already in the middle of Mediterranean sailing that rewards both the ambitious and the leisurely.
