Tortola's Road Town harbour sits in the heart of the British Virgin Islands, giving a bareboat week instant access to Sir Francis Drake Channel and its 32 islands. The Moorings 5000 Exclusive, a 2023 Leopard 50, launches from Wickhams Cay II and transforms that geography into an operating base for twelve people who might otherwise need two boats.

Step aboard and the catamaran layout reveals itself immediately. Five cabins and five bathrooms mean no one shares; the saloon flows open to the galley and helm station, letting the group stay connected while cooking or planning the next anchorage. The wide, bridged hulls create unusual interior volume—the trampolines and foredeck stretch ahead as genuine lounging territory, not an afterthought. Up top, the flybridge catches breeze and views without hoisting anyone into the rigging.

Those twin hulls matter on the water. At anchor, the catamaran sits flat even when wind turns; shallow draft lets you find sandbars and bay edges that monohulls cannot reach.
