Bootscharter in Belize · Leopard 42 in Placencia — “Moorings 4200/3 Exclusive Plus” — (2025)

From Placencia's protected anchorage, the Moorings 4200/3 Exclusive Plus launches you into Belize's most rewarding sailing grounds. A 2025 Leopard 42 built for eight guests, this three-cabin catamaran handles the transition from shallow mangrove cayes to open reef passage with genuine ease. Your base puts you minutes from Half Moon Caye, Laughing Bird Caye, and the Silk Cayes—waters where the catamaran's shallow draft and dual-hull stability become practical assets rather than selling points. Living aboard works because the beam separates port and starboard cabins into distinct spaces, while the third sleeps two forward. Four ensuite bathrooms mean less negotiation during morning routines. The main saloon sits between hulls, keeping the boat centered and livable in any sea state, while the expansive trampolines forward turn downtime into genuine leisure. The cockpit layout puts helm, table, and lounging within arm's reach, so watch and rest without leaving your sailing post. Two hulls give you what one cannot: you anchor shallow enough for beach stops without dropping the dinghy, and you lie flat without the rolling that tests patience in exposed anchorages. Eight berths accommodate a genuine group—two families, or friends who actually want to spread out. A week from Placencia traces a triangle through islands and reefs, where bareboat autonomy means your rhythm, not a charter schedule, shapes each day.
