Bootscharter in Montenegro · Lucia 40 in Tivat / Porto Montenegro — “Merengue” — (2020)

Porto Montenegro in Tivat sits at the gateway to the Bay of Kotor, where steep limestone peaks frame narrow waterways and hidden anchorages wait at every turn. Merengue, a 2020 Fountaine Pajot Lucia 40, is built for this kind of cruising—and for the eight people you'll want to share it with. Below deck, four cabins each have their own ensuite bathroom, so privacy is never compromised even with a full group. The saloon flows naturally from the galley, designed so cooking and socializing don't compete for space. Forward, a separate cabin retreat offers quiet for early risers or anyone needing escape. The double hulls make all this possible: they create a platform wide enough for genuine living space, yet shallow enough to nose into bays where monohulls cannot follow. At anchor, that beam means Merengue sits flat and stable, even when wind picks up. Step topside and the catamaran's advantage becomes clear. Twin trampolines stretch between the hulls—natural gathering spots for morning coffee or sunset drinks. The cockpit is generous and well-protected, while the foredeck offers room to move safely. Two hulls mean no list, no heel, just pure stability underfoot. From Tivat, a week's sailing takes you through Kotor's protected maze, past the Elafiti Islands, and down toward Dubrovnik if you choose. Bareboat means Merengue is yours to command, with the space and handling to do it confidently.
