Bootscharter in Italien · Excess 11 in Rome / Marina di Nettuno — “Zèfiro” — (2022)

Bareboat sailing from Rome means Marina di Nettuno as your springboard to the Tyrrhenian coast, and Zèfiro—a 2022 Excess 11—offers the platform to make the most of it. With twelve berths across four cabins, this catamaran sleeps families and friend groups comfortably without the constraint of a smaller monohull. Two bathrooms keep the morning routine manageable when cabins are full. The saloon and cockpit flow naturally across the wide beam, giving you genuine living space rather than a corridor with bunks. Step forward onto the foredeck and trampolines: this is where the catamaran's real gift appears. The twin hulls create an open, stable platform for lounging between the bows, something a single-hull boat simply cannot offer. That same shallow draft that makes sunbathing easy also lets you anchor in bays and off beaches where deeper-keeled yachts must stay offshore. Zèfiro holds position steadily, even when anchored without engines running, because the wide stance of two hulls resists the swing and roll that frustrates crews on single-hulled boats. From Nettuno, a week's cruising reaches the Pontine Islands, the volcanic archipelago around Ponza and Palmarola, and the Campania coast toward Capri. The bareboat freedom means you set the pace—whether that's long passages under sail or lingering in anchorages that suit your group's rhythm. Twin Yammer engines and a modern furling system give you the control to arrive on schedule, and the beam of the Excess 11 means everyone gets their own space to recharge.
